I call that an "eat down". It's more like an archaeological dig once I start digging into the back of the freezer.
Ah, yes, the pantry challenge. Used to do that with a group on another forum.
We ate everything we could until we broke and went shopping. I was unable to go hardcore without, too much of a softie. The pros were great, as we reported what we ate that day. "I'm down to rice and Ragu...not that bad together", etc. Lol.
A couple of weeks, maybe. We don't keep meat on hand, except for a few cans of tuna and chicken. We'd mostly be living on rice, quinoa, pasta, and canned chickpeas, black beans and tomatoes. And chocolates. ) This makes me think I need to go out and buy more peanut butter.
its not whats in your house that's necessarily a problem, its when there is a glitz in the store delivery system and there's no food in the shops, then you really have got a problem.
supermarkets have a "just in time" delivery system, they carry about 3 days worth of normal sales, which is ok in normal times, but if there is an emergency that will be gone in as many HOURS! bread and milk always runs out first.
WE keep a three month supply. If we had to stretch it I could probably go four months. No eggs or bread but I have powered and canned milk and dehydrated stuff to throw in the mix.

About 3-4 weeks.
PB must be in stock. Lots of canned beans, tomatoes, soups all with pull top lids. Lots of pastas and rice too.
Dry mixes of soup, shelf safe milk and soups, broths. Crackers, shelf stable cheese. Packs of oatmeal and grits. And International Foods coffees. Paper plates and cups, etc.
I am guessing at least a month. OK, fresh produce would last maybe 10 days at most, but the freezer is filled with left overs, fresh/frozen meat, and the pantry has canned goods, pasta, plus all the stuff I have canned which some cans are a few years old. I doubt I would go hungry. I could stand to lose some of that weight, but at least I know I have fat to live on, if nothing else.
