Well running out of food wouldn't be a problem. We were snowed in for three days once and the cupboards were actually bare. It's a good thing the restaurant a few blocks away on a main artery was plowed and open. We just had to walk down and get something to eat which was quite fun actually.

We can also walk to a grocery store in town that was open the next day. Oh yeah and the pubs just down the street. One has the best talapia sandwich and home made chips.

We wouldn't starve, but if the power was out and there was no heat or TV. Kill me now.

About a month, but it would be weird stuff. I would still shop before a storm, if I hadn't very recently to get fresh foods and stuff.

Probably 2 months but I have plenty of frozen meats and a well stocked pantry and I am a pretty good cook. The only reason I went to the store prior to the blizzard was to get some ingredients for a recipe I was making Sunday. If the power went out I can still cook using the gas burners so it would be a mild inconvenience in that regard.

Could probably survive several months.

Could eat "well" for a month or so.

Then, it would be a lot of rice and pasta...with maybe just garlic and olive oil "sauce".

(lord knows what all is in the freezer, and the pantry....would be interesting to find out!)

There are two of us and two dogs. For us humans, as long as we had water and electricity, I think we probably have enough food for at least two months, possibly more. I wouldn't be excited about the menu (especially towards the end), but we have a lot of canned, dry, and frozen items that would sustain us just fine. Ad we probably have three weeks' worth of dog food in the house at any one time.

The one thing I can't stand to run out of is milk, so I always have a can of whole dried milk powder on hand. It doesn't taste exactly like fresh, but it's not bad in a pinch and I don't like having to run to the store for just one thing.

I don't necessarily mean an Ice storm or any storm. I was just curious how much food people keep at home. My original thought that I would last two weeks is wrong. After two weeks or so it would be mostly dry staples rice beans oatmeal pancake mix and a few canned goods. Recently bought a case of ramen, that I wouldn't want to eat for a straight week and a half, but I guess I could if I were desperate.

A month. Then I would go out and get some more. I drive a Jeep, a little snow isn't going to bother me.

I could last 2 weeks but it would be stretching it. There's two of us but hubby is a bigger eater than I am. So in reality I could last 1 week. The storm was bad but not bad enough that I couldn't get any food the day after the storm.
