A naughty supper tonight for a treat after he cut wood and I cleaned the refrigerator and the kitchen.

We went to Ma and Pa's Ice Cream Shop. I had a scoop of coffee with Oreo chips and a scoop of Door County cherry. DH had a scoop of raspberry and a scoop of banana cream pie. DH said, "Isn't it funny how little it takes to fill us up these days?"

This all started when we remembered that people had given us restaurant gift cards which we had put in an envelope and stuck on the kitchen bulletin board. They were in plain sight so we wouldn't forget them. Right. I found them when I was straightening out the kitchen after the lasagna production.

So I said, "Nice that we could start using the Ma and Pa card." He replied, "I forgot to bring it."

Actually it was worse than that. He went out and sat in the car waiting for me to come out. But he forgot to tell me he was ready to go so I was sitting in the house wondering where he was. I think we need a grandchild around here to keep us on task.

Thank you, Chess... I do appreciate the sympathy! Hang is right... I'm so exhausted, my face is hanging like an old, wet shoe... but not as prettily as an old, wet shoe. No worries on reps... I cannot seem to rep anyone, save for rare occasion... wonder if my repping privileges have been dismantled.

For me, my 1st home cooked meal in a long time... red onion sauteed in olive oil & a large ribeye butter fried in cast iron. Nothing to drink... I don't have the energy to lift heavy vessels.

Enjoy your weekends, All! We're still in just long sleeved shirts in CO... hope you all get outside for the last drops of summer sun!

I almost forgot to post dinner while watching the Dodgers and Red Sox continue to play into the 17th inning of game 3 of the World Series!

Pork chop, asparagus and roasted potatoes. Drank Newcastle Brown Ale.

Went out for a pizza type buffet, because they used to have somewhat decent gluten-free pizza tonight, not so much. The salad was delicious and fresh.

I've noticed lately that there are only a few places that are good enough to eat out at anymore, most places food taste mediocre and overpriced.

We are having chicken thighs, left over pasta and shrimp salad, and green beans. The salad is made with a lemon/olive oil dressing that is so tart and nice. I was surprised so much of it was left from our pot luck lunch yesterday.

last night I made a breakfast frittata with onions, asparagus, cheddar cheese and ham and bisquick pancakes with real maple syrup. Tonight we are going to my MIL for Pot roast, mashed potatoes, red cabbage (Jar my favorite) not sure what else. I may make a spaghetti squash to bring because I have had it on my counter 1 week and need to use it. I might also make a pumpkin bread too.
