I've yet to find any good ones. So we make them at home. BTW, I avoid Dade County like the plague and use the Turnpike to Bypass it on my way to the Keys and I was born there.
One of the things I miss from living in Annapolis: CRABCAKES! After that, Smith Island Cake. The former I now make at home. The cake is now but a sweet memory. Not enough pans to bake the many layers of the Smith Island cake.

Yep, when we lived just outside of DC we loved our crabs fixed anyway. We didn't care. We also loved that restaurant in Baltimore that began with an H. I know it is long gone. We used to drive up whenever we had out of town company because it was so awesome. Even our visitors from So California were impressed. Now we are doing good to find a place that serves anything better than a pizza or southern fried chicken. I am exaggerating of course. We have some pretty good places and I am happy to live here.
I thought of this thread yesterday. Yesterday I was in the city, and a guy on the street handed me a menu for a nearby Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant, and on the appetizer menu they list crab cakes--with chipotle and aioli.
Now that doesn't sound Turkish to me.
I'd like to go find that place if I'm back in Midtown and hungry, because some of the Turkish dishes on the menu did look very inviting, but I think I'll skip the crab cake appetizer there. It just looks as if it doesn't belong!
You got it.I can remember one Saturday standing in line which extended outside and down the street for about an hour just to get our table. It was about 6pm I think. anyway I loved the place.
It was fun to tour the naval academy and then drive over to Baltimore for dinner. Probably one of our favorite places to take our out of town guests and we had plenty of them.
not at all....maybe because we produce more lobsters than any other state
