Come on Kats....not fair!! You know me...how long do you blanch the corn in the micro and how do you do it? What do you make the cream sauce out of? I have no imagination with cooking and I need detail! Thanks.
Is there a special way you take the kernals off the cob in order to just get the sweet corn and not the cob?

Kats, you are saying you buy a bunch of corn and make a giant batch of creamed corn and can it all, right?

I am going to be a first time canner this year. I don't plan to get too too ambitious though.

As far as those In-N-Out-Burgers...well they are pretty darn good for fast food. DH is not fond of them but I miss the heck out of them. Yes, burgers made at home are better of course but if buying fast foods these were the best I had. We very seldom eat fast food anymore.......

I read this thread from my inbox it is always tops on my list!

HG glad you had a nice time in Napa your food does sound amazing!

Here is a recipe for anybody that would like to try it. I have a corn cutter that cuts the kernals off for cream style or whole kernal when I can up my corn each year. Using a knife you won't want to cut too deeply into the kernals you are really getting mostly the tips then the milky goodness inside the kernals for cream style.

Cream style corn

6 ears fresh corn
1/4 cup butter
3 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon flour blended with 1 tablespoon water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
3/4 cup milk or half-and-half

Cut corn from cobs then scrape cobs with a sharp knife to get all of the milk and pulp. Melt butter in a large skillet. Stir in corn and juices, the 3 tablespoons water, and sugar. Cook until corn is tender. Stir in flour-water mixture, salt, and pepper, blending well. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly. Cook for about 2 minutes longer. Do not let boil.

Afternoon everyone. Tonight for dinner something simple, chicken and rice. Nothing fancy but comfort food at least. Hope everyone is well and has a great day.

Sorry Kats didn't mean to step on your toes I was posting when other were asking you to share. I knew with this great foodie bunch there would be inquiring minds.

I was going to put whole potatoes in the crock for supper tonight, with a salad, since we don't like them in the microwave very much. We have a band concert to go to so I think we are going to go out to eat afterwards. This is closing a door to having anymore of my kids in Jr. high events. Think DD deserves to close that door with a celebration.

Not at all. The topic was actually first directed to Elston, so perhaps I need to apologize to him also!
