Just talked with the wife and guess I'm on the hook to bring a rotisserie chicken and some sides....I think they will be mashed potatoes (they cook) and some store bought coleslaw....

Jax, Lisa, NMS, thank you all I am proud about my cookbook but, the reason I was embarrassed yesterday with the checker in our supermarket is the fact that he wanted me to "give" him a book not purchase one. He had taken me completely off guard, first of all because I was almost out the door and second because he had to have found out that I had given a book last month to our Meat Specialist who makes sure that we get the best quality meat and seafood. All I have to do is call up and I have everything ready for me when we get there, and I get the .99 lb deal on ground sirloin and ground round because of my tax ID in cooking. So, now I have to figure out how to handle this.

Well foodie friends, the rug in the LR is pulled out and the hw floor going down, white furry child is hyperventilating, carrying her "babies" all around the house. She will be going to her trainer's in a couple of hrs. for the night so that will be good for her and her "dad". lol

Dinner will be grilled Angus rib eye steak, baked purple sweet potatoes and broccoli.

I p/u a rot. chicken to bring to her trainer's house and made h/m tiny shell mac. salad and egg potato salad for them for tonight.

We are going to a party next week for a friend of mine who has a new boyfriend from Poland, so I made up a large crock pot of stuffed Polish cabbage rolls to freeze and then bring to the party next Friday. They are simmering in the pot now. I hope they will be as yummy as they smell.

I hope everyone has a nice Saturday. I will check back later. Ciao for now. kelsie

Kelsie-I know they will be.

That's tough because he put you between a rock and a hard place-maybe explain that it was a gift to a special friend.

Folks I have Kelsie's book and it is fantastic-easy, great directions. One of the best I've seen.

I see. I agree with Lacey - he doesn't deserve one after what he did.

Decision has been made - rigatoni w/bolognese sauce. mmmmmm

Now NMS if I was craving a big juicy A-1 cheeseburger with fried vidalia onions I'd be there with fork in hand. Rigatoni=my fave macaroni.

I've attemepted to speed read thru the back posts. My prayers include a Safe weekend, for all.
Last night, found me, surround by several of my sons friends, at the little bar in our town, and found Mr.Debey raiding the leftovers, for his supper (poor guy!)
This evening, another high school friend, of my kids, is having a cook out, and has went out of his way, to personnally stop by our house & extend an invitation, to Mr & Mrs. Debey.....their menu includes jalepeno brats, potato salad & "pot luck"....I asked what I could bring, and with a sheepish lok on his face, "fred" said.....a propane tank, for the grill? LOL! How easy, is that!
I am looking forward to this evening, having asked who else was on the guest list & Fred got twinkle in his eyes & said "a bunch of us, that call you "Mom!"~~this group of "kids", go out of their way, to include us, for every holiday.........
Early Monday morning, i have a "date", with a WWII Vet, @ our cemetary, to place the flags, on the graves of our Vets.

YLisa look at your comment I left ya sweetie.

NMS I totally understand about going out to eat & eating healthy. To many choices I believe for me.

skbs glad your dinner/bday party was enjoyed by all! My SIL was from Philly she use to tell of family dinners like you with the bakery items and such also. Once we turned her into a Hoosier she actually enjoyed baking things for our dinners. It would be cool to live in a big city just to say I did once though. Of course I would have to come back home again to IN.

Lacey SIL would tell us how her family got great breads too! I hear ya all talking about it and from her stories but I don't know that kind of lifestyle. Thank you all for sharing yours.

kelsie very simply say glad you liked by cookbook but I'm sorry I can't afford to give them all away. So for X amount I will be glad to bring you a signed copy next time I am in. Smile then walk away. Of course you have a bumper sticker or a small sign about your cookbook in your car right? Carry a few in the car to sell on the spot right?

debey sounds like a great group of kids reaching out to a great lady.

Nomad at least you will get a hot meal without being in the heat of the kitchen or forgetting about it cooking right?

Tonight we are having pulled pork from a crock recipe that Charley put up. Smells fantastic it pulled apart so easily after cooking it 12 hours. I seem to be seeing little gremlins raising the lid dipping in forks for a bite every once in awhile too.

Pork shoulder on sale this week. Don't have a crock but will probably do in dutch oven low and slow at 250.

Pulled pork sounds good, but that'd be way too much for one, especially for one who has no room in her freezer!

Bon appetit, all!
