Back to back dinner parties this weekend..for picky eaters, arrgh

Tonight- appetizers (plain shrimp and cheese and crackers), roast lamb, mint jelly, mashed potato, coffee gravy, asparagus, copper pennies, spinach salad, rolls, they're bringing dessert. Basic food for the FWDLA (friends who don't like anything)...lamb is exotic for them. I have the ingredients for gingerbread martinis, but don't know if I'll get any takers. Since they are cloyingly sweet, the FWDLA might like them...but most likely not.

Sunday-shrimp puffs, roast pork, mashed potatoes, gravy, applesauce, caesar salad, peas and onions, copper pennies, rolls, brownie sundaes. Of course, the wife doesn't eat anything except plain fish and plain rice, and salad with ranch, due to dietary issues, so I have to make these for her, but it's no trouble.

I browned a chunk of chuck roast, now it is sitting in the crock pot...we will see how the day progresses whether we just shred for (burgers) sandwiches with some cheese and BBQ, or make some mashed potatoes and gravy....
