We are moving from St. Louis and are having a hard time choosing between Broward and Lee Counties. I have heard negitive things about the schools in both places but more so in Lee county. We work at hospitals so either place is a good pick as far as jobs. Help?

In NW Broward we have excellent schools in Coral Springs and Parkland. In fact Parkland schools were just rated #1 by Forbes for the quality of education received relative to the cost of housing. Both cities are very safe and offer a wide variety of housing. I recommend that you read this article I wrote to give you a better understanding of our great cities!

The two areas are very different.

Broward County= big metro area wedged between Miami and Palm Beach.

Lee County= smaller retirement area isolated from major metro areas.

Broward County suburbs have better schools in places like Coral Springs, Parkland, Weston, Cooper City, Sunrise, Davie, and Pembroke Pines. The rest of Broward County has mediocre or bad schools.

You will find Lee County to have a very old population. There are families there too, but the retirees dominate the area. Broward County is more balanced. Lee County is quieter, more laid back, much slower pace of life.

There are plenty of hospitals in Broward County and you have the option of commuting to Miami or Palm Beach County for jobs. That is a great luxury of living in Broward over other parts of the state. You have access to more job options than anywhere.
