Hi everyone,

I will be starting school this coming August at nova in davie, fl. What areas would you guys recommend for me to live in? Any specific condo names would be great. I was thinking of commuting from Brickell to Davie. I absolutely love Brickell. Is it possible to use public transportation from Brickell to Davie? What would you guys recommend? What areas in Ft. Lauderdale are similar to Brickell/Coral Gables/South Beach? Thanks.

Is it possible to commute from Brickell to Davie? Probably. Comfortably, and efficiently? No. If you are going to Nova I would highly recommend looking nearby. Especially without your own transportation.

the commute will be horrible, for an area like Brickell in Fort lauderdale, I would consider Las Olas Blvd area or A1A area on the beach. Taking public transportation would be like 3 hours one way, forget it.

With Public Transit, not doable. Even if you got an apartment right in front of Brickell's Metrorail, it would still be basically impossible. If it was something occasional like one time a week or somethin', then it would be doable; but besides that it's treacherous. At best about 2:40-2:45hrs each way, having to take the Metro, Tri-Rail, a bus (or two if you wanna walk less) and wait a lot and walk a lot.

I'd probably consider either taking a car (easiest way - though it won't be a good commute), or living somewhere relatively similar to Brickell but (much) nearer to Davie. Aventura is the first place to come to my mind, and also the Las Olas area of FTL. Plus Sunny Isles just east of Aventura. Not to mention all these areas are cheaper than Brickell (the market is very heated up in that area).

SoBe and C. Gables would be similarly bad (probably slightly worse even) and they're also expensive again nowadays.
