I know this is probably like whistling in the wind but my son let his cat Sullivan outside last night about 9 and he has not come home...
the neighborhood is Brookwood Hills--close to Central, between Cheek Sparger and Cummings in Bedford
my son --who is in his 30s--not a child-- walked the neighborhood this morning--stayed home from work even--went to the closest vet's office to see if anyone brought in lost/hurt cat they had run over, and called the Bedford Animal Shelter--but no luck...

I drove around this afternoon and went across the street into another subdivision calling him but no luck either...

he is a sweet cat but shy--don't know that he would come up to anyone he did not know--and there are some dogs in this neighborhood that get out of the yards so they could have chased him pretty far (or killed him, I know)...

We are putting up flyers tomorrow--tried to get him to do it today but he thought that might jinx the cat returning on his own...

IF anyone who reads this board lives in that area and you see/hear of someone finding a large male (neutered) orange-white cat I would appreciate a contact

my son just called to say Sullivan came home--his second cat was crying for him to upstairs to game room where there is balcony that Sullivan uses to go in/out of house...when my son got upstairs the other cat went to the balcony door and my son saw Sullivan's face--at first he thought it was wishful thinking or optical illusion--but it was his cat--back home after 24 hrs away...
unhurt, hungry, and if I know cats--unrepentant as well

I just hope he does not make a habit of being out like this--
we were lucky--it could have gone the other way and we never saw him again...

good luck to anyone who has lost a pet--I hope yours comes home as easily as this one...

I'm so happy to hear that this story had a good ending. I had to have my companion kitty of 14 years euthanized today, so I'm not happy at all.

My husband and I have had three cats in our 38 yr marriage who had to be euthanized after a long time with us and those were two of the saddest days of our lives...my sympathies...I know what a difficult, complex, heartrending decision you made...

They live in Bedford Estates on Wimbleton Drive. Family is devastated. If you see him please call 817 372 6713. Thank you so much!!
