I've planted all of the cold weather veggies, and transplanted some of the herbs I got today. I grew borage from seed and set that out. Planted so far are:
broccoli
broccoli rabe
spinach
snow peas
red onion
lettuce
The garlic and red russian kale I planted last fall are growing, and the snow peas and spinach are small and growing. I had some kale yesterday and it was delicious. Sweet and tender.

Good job! Red Russian Kale is by far my favorite kale. I would plant mine in the late Summer and harvest it in the Fall for canning. When it came back on in the Spring, it was even better.
Freeze warning tonight, snow forecast for the morning. Covered the four rows I have planted with plastic. I think the 50-70mph wind and dust storm did more damage though.
My garden is under 4" of snow. I'll see what survives. Probably replant in mid May.
I am so sorry to hear that. I remember one year (before most of you were born) I was attending the university of CO and we got a dusting of snow in early May. I am ticked when we get it here in March, don't want anything later. I hope to get our garden ready by early next week. I am doing strictly containers this year; it better work, the damn soil has costs us a fortune.
And after 4" of snow, another 5" on top of that, then about a half inch of rain. Heck it's gotten plenty of water! Onion sets, broccoli, kale are doing fine. Lettuce is gone, but I think more from the 50-60mph winds and blowing dust before the snow than anything else. I'll replant in a few weeks.

nmnita, I've seen it snow on July 4th here!
wow, I guess we are lucky here in AR. You would know that, but Co is still an awesome state, I just prefer living here and having my little garden that often burns out by July...None of us have the perfect climate I guess.
with aching back, I just managed to get part of the garden in. I planted squash (2 kinds) tomatoes, but will add a few later next week, cukes and beans. I have herbs in the car still and a few I grew from seeds already out. I still have to do peppers in smaller pots. I just hope this is a good year; even with container planting my back is killing me.
Fordhook lima beans over waist high now climbing up their strings. 150+ pots of okra put in yesterday. First planting of summer squash full of bloom.
