Husband is Italian, has dark complexion and dark hair. People think he's Hispanic.
My cousin is married to a red haired, fair skinnned, blue eyed Spaniard but he grew up in Mexico. Everyone thinks he's Irish.

Same for a friend of mine. Her hubby and their dd are brown eyed, and brown hair, Italian, and very often mistaken for Hispanic (because we do have a decent Hispanic population here, I'd guess) . She doesn't care.

I get mistaken for Polish, usually by Polish people
I'm actually Irish, French & German, though....but since I know so many Polish people that are very cool, I really don't mind

I get mistaken for latina or brazillian, but I'm Egyptian. Usually when people ask me where I'm from, I say Africa, and they have a hard time believing me. I don't know why cause most north africans are light skinned. My husband is Sudanese (gets mistaken for fijian/hispanic), but he's really light skinned, so nobody believes him either haha.

Three words: Dina Ruiz Eastwood (Clint's wife)...

She's not Hispanic genetically. Her father was a combination of African-American and Japanese (and her mother being of European ancestry), adopted when young to gain the Hispanic surname. But look at pictures of her.

I am 100 percent Lebanese, although people think I look Greek or Italian. While I have olive skin, my hair is medium brown (it's actually closer to light brown than dark) and hazel eyes.

My family is quite mixed in appearance. I have very dark relatives and very fair ones (and everything in between). My paternal grandfather was actually had red hair when he was younger. He passed it on to my dad's two brothers. One of them married another redhead, and their three kids are redheads. They get mistaken for Irish a lot.

There aren't any blonds in my family, but one of my best friends, who is a fellow Lebanese-Australian, is blond and green-eyed. People think he's Anglo-Australian and get surprised when he starts speaking in Arabic and tells them that he's a Muslim (I am also a Muslim).

It's just that many people I know think that all Lebanese (and all Arabs period) look the same.
