Saint Pierre and Miquelon.
Are These the westernmost and northernmost parts of France, then?
Not the northern most, they are about as far south as the middle of France, 2 degrees further south of Paris!
Europe is further north than many realize. Here in the extreme southern part of Canada, we are as far south as Rome Italy!
The recommended route from Weirton, West Virginia (northern pandhandle) to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (famous beach destination) actually starts off going mostly west into Ohio for over an hour (65 miles) until US Route 22 meets Interstate 77 even though Myrtle Beach is farther east than Weirton, WV.

Here's a few I recall from my former Social Studies Teachers in junior high.
1.Point Pelee Canada is further south than eleven states in the lower 48, and equal latitude with Crescent City California.
2.The Northwest Angle of Minnesota is only accessible by crossing into Canada and the only point in the lower 48 above the 49th parallel.
3.Cairo at the southernmost point in Illinois is on the same latitude as Braman, Oklahoma while Rockford and Belvidere are the same latitude as Medford, Oregon.
4.Abigdon, Virginia is closer to Atlanta, Montgomery, Nashville, Charlotte, and Louisville than it is to Richmond. and is also further west than Detroit, Michigan.
