This is New England in general, particularly fast food. Its one sentiment that cuts across socioeconomic lines.

That being said

Good one! Dunkin seems to be big for all of the northeast too actually. I hear people from Philly swear by Dunkin.

Big? It's eerily pervasive and inescapable.

Yea it's pretty popular in Bmore too but drops off dramatically in DC.

In 2013 Boston there were ~61 Dunkin donuts in the city limits. There are only 48 square miles in the city. The furthest you can be from a DUnkins in Boston is like 1.3 miles. Yes, they did a whole article on it.

In Everett ma there are two Dunkin Donuts across the street from each other:

In Massachusetts, 2013, Dunkins outnumbered Starbucks 10 to 1

In 2013 Chelsea Ma, which is 2 square miles had 8 Dunkin Donuts in city limits

In Oklahoma it is Braums probably followed by Sonic, but Sonic got sold so it's technically not Oklahoma owned anymore even though we still have the HQ.

True, and it seems that a new location pops up every other day. Royal Farms to Baltimore is what Wawa is to Philly. The Eastern Shore/Delaware you'll see both RoFo and Wawa at every major intersection.

IMNSHO, I've found that the highly cult-like regional chains tend to be overrated. Whataburger and In-n-Out are both decidedly mediocre (as is Blue Bell, another overhyped Texas favorite).
I agree that all these chains are overhyped, but mediocre implies below average. Whataburger, In n Out and Bluebell may not be God's gift to man but they are all better than the average fast food so none of them are mediocre.

McDonald's, Taco Bell, Jack in the Crack are all mediocre, but the 3 mentioned are not worth the hype but also not mediocre

Taco Time. Mostly in the PNW. Oddly, there’s also one location in Chicago.
