North Carolina is the birthplace of Bojangles and Cookout; which have now both spread in popularity throughout much of the southeast.

Burgerville in the Pacific Northwest. We’ve stopped at the Centralia, WA location numerous times driving between Portland and Seattle. Like their Walla Walla Sweet Onion rings and fish & chips.

Yoshinoya Beef Bowl in Southern California. Serving Japanese chicken teriyaki bowls and beef “Gyudon” (Japanese thin sliced beef) bowls. Ate there as a starving and poor college student during my college days in LA.

Few more: King Taco in Southern California, The Hat (some of the best pastrami sandwiches) in Southern California, and Original Tommy’s Burgers (burgers with chili on top) in Southern California.

It's Blake's Lotaburger for Albuquerque and New Mexico. The green chile cheeseburgers are their best item and an iconic New Mexico concoction. I always get a green chile cheeseburger with fries and a strawberry shake whenever I eat there!

Give them Gino’s or Lucali’s

I think New Yorkers take a special pride in Shake Shack, which IIRC, began here. They’re in other cities now. And the burgers are definitely a cut above any other chain I know.

In Houston (and all of Texas for some of these), we have regional pride for a few others.

Shipley Donuts
Fertitta Entertainment/Landry’s Inc (Although the more time passes, Houston likes them less while other states like them more)
Salata
Fuddruckers (first black owned nation wide chain!)
Marble Slab
Luby’s
Pappadeaux!

And of course Buc-Ee’s!!!!. If there’s any chain that has a chance of taking Whataburger’s reign for Texans, it’s this one.

I am biased, but Blake's to me is the best fast food I've had. It's the only fast food I will eat.
