True true, are city planning office. took our projections.. we dont depend on those horrible census predictions,.. we did our homework, but i will say that there is a bright future for omaha i hope it just takes the right development, cuz obviously the development ahead of us is spread out housing everywhere..and thats the worst kind of development.
Hopefully Albuquerque can do the same and not become another Phoenix.
LA is 3.8 million, not the optimistic 4+ million number being thrown around by LA officials.
That 4 million figure is from the CA Department of Finance and not LA officials. Considering how the census tends to underestimate large cities and with plenty of illegals in LA, 4 million is a fairly accurate estimation.
I think the City of Chicago is already over 3,000,000. If you've ever been to Chicago, you know its not as small as the census makes it out to be. I wouldn't be surprised if Chicago actually caught up to L.A. Chicago has so much room for growth on its South and West sides. If Daley can convince middle class families to move back into the city with better school, tax benefits, and lowering crime, Chicago will knock L.A out of the number two spot. I think Philadelphia has the chance to do this to Houston as well. I think around 2030, Chicago may past its peak population of 3,654,000 people and be heading towards 4,000,000.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Houston is growing too fast to be passed by any city at the moment. Including illegal immigration going on, we could be just reaching 2.7 million as we speak!...jk lol

Not sure about that, since the 2010 estimates is what Houston is at now actually. Harris County is also above 4 million already, when the 2010 predictions from the site you linked has it at 3.9 million in 2010.

So the estimate the government has of 3.2 million by 2030 has suddenly jumped all the way to 4 million according to you because it "feels that way". Well that is a big jump!

No no no. I don't know how you see any of this happening. First, Chicago is never, ever going to catch up to LA (at least in our lifetimes). For one, Chicago is already more than a million behind Los Angeles. Two, Los Angeles has more room in its city limits, thus more room for growth. Last, Los Angeles is growing A LOT faster than Chicago.
About Houston and Philly, you do know Philly would have to get past Phoenix first right? Philly is not growing (and if it is, only stagnant). Houston is growing.
I want to know your evidence to show that Philly has a chance on passing Houston and Chicago a chance on passing LA. I think you're going on pure opinion/speculation.
