I don't like it that MARTA's not that extensive. I don't like that our leadership here in the A is incoherent with the traffic issues (I really don't like the traffic either). Atlanta will always have people who use the interstates (FLA people coming through, games and conventions, etc) but we need something for the people who reside in this city because it sucks being stuck in traffic. We also need better leadership in everything.
A toss up between the "sophisticated" people (who are actually quite nice, I just don't relate to them really), and the time it takes to get anywhere! It takes 15 minutes just to go to a grocery store in many parts of CT, which I know is common in many parts of the midwest for instance, but in such a small state it seems crazy sometimes. It's all backroads backroads backroads, which is beautiful, but not always practical.
Tourists. I work in a gift shop in Times Square and tourists are clueless and the only thing they do is clog the already crowded sidewalks and soften the city.
That no one is originally from here ... how many of you get that? But more specifically, it's a bunch of people that move here with family and old money which in result caters to a very cliquish, yuppie crowd. Other than that I love everything about the city I am currently in and soon to be out of again in a matter of months.
I live in San Diego and like it here. But among the items in the list, my biggest complaints would have to be high cost of living, traffic, and lack of decent public transportation.
And this is not really a complaint, but after visiting friends and family in San Antonio, I'd have to say that IMO the people here are not as friendly as those in SA.
I only have two cmplaints for Minneapolis
--Public transit is good, the bus system gets you where you need to be; but I am sans car and some improved service an nicer bus shelters woulddo everyone some good.
--This is the most geographically isolated city ever. You can drive 4 hours and be absolutely nowhere. It has its benefits, sometimes. Holy hell, though, we need a bullet train to Chicago (or at least an abolishment of the speed limit in Wisconsin).
I HATE the weather in Houston, summer is unbearable (for me) and it seems last forever. And we can even get close to 90 in November and 80's in December. We have no winter and I hate that too.
Oh come on Coon Girl. Quit your bellyachin. It ain't all that bad! Come on up to Minnesota in January and we'll go for a walk in 25 below zero weather. You're not gonna find too many coons out there for huntin' at that temp. Don't worry....be happy!
