I don't think the Park Service would let me build a house at my favorite spot by the creek. Sigh.
Next choice is Charleston SC. But I'm not sure I want the hassle of owning a 2nd home. Maybe one year I'll rent something at the beach, the next year in the historic district.
Not a question of if. But when. And I've been looking into different places across the country. The Northeast is very high on my list for the values, sophisticated lifestyle, and educational opportunities my children will have access to. One of my dearest thoughts is having a home in Greenwich and condo in the Upper West Side. Or if I decide to do the west coast thing, I'm looking into buying somewhere near Calabasas, Agoura Hills, or even further out towards Santa Barbara or Monterey. If I do the south, I'm looking into Palm Beach & Bal Harbour.
Primary home would be exactly where I am already, but a couple miles out of town on 50+ acres.
Second home would be somewhere between Silverthorne and Frisco, CO. Maybe along the Dillon Reservoir.
My primary would probably be San Diego. I'd live in a nice modern home alongside the beach. Preferably Mission Beach.
Secondary would be somewhere in Colorado amongst the mountains. I'd probably want it closer to Denver so I can access it easier but a mountain cabin to visit during the summer and winter would be fantastic.
(I'd probably try to list the Colorado home as a primary though because taxes)
Not sure where my primary would be quite yet, but my secondary would be in the mountains of Montana/Idaho/Wyoming.
