I now understand what you mean. Ted Bruschi of the New England is half Fillipino and half Italian. I personally know someone who is half Filipino and half Pakistani.
Personally, I don't see ethnic mixes as odd, but more interesting and beautiful.

I tend to notice places with heavy military influnces sometimes have interesting ethnic mixes. One example: Ann Curry(host of Dateline NBC) is of French, Irish, German, Scottish, Cherokee, and Japanese ancestry. Her father was in the Navy.

Lead singer from Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger, R&B singer Cassie, Vannessa Minnillo, Rob Schnedier all have Filipino in them

The city I've lived in with the most/different ethnic combos was San Francisco. The school I taught in had 27 languages spoken in it as first language. Our particular school was an interesting (to put it mildly) mix of many Asian peoples, various Chinese, Filipino, Laotian, Cambodian, Vietnamese, along with a lot of Slavic folks, even before the breakup of the Soviet Union...a lot of Russians.

I was invited over to one of my student's house for dinner...dad was a Kurd and mom was a Hmong. That's the diversity that city can bring together, although I'm sure the other major cities in this country can claim the same type of thing.

Alot of us have a mixture of some kind. I don't believe it diminishes a person. I will gladly embrace my heritage: African, French, German, Irish, and Native American(Choctaw, and possibly Cherokee). According to one of my professors, many African-Americans have some Native American in their blood.

I have a few friends from Eastern Europe, mainly Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria. My friend from Bulgaria told me she possibly has Mongolian in her blood. Her reason: The shape of her eyes. I had a conversation with someone from Romania and we talked about the influences in Romania, mainly Roman, Slavic, Turkish, and Mongolian. My friends from Poland commented about possibly having Turkish in their blood. I could understand that because after geography, history is a subject I know about. I have read about the Ottoman Empire and the Mongolian Empire. The Mongolian Empire stretched from Korea to Poland and Romania. The Ottoman Empire occupied alot of what is now the Balkans regions and Hungary, and was rather close to Poland. Actually, Poland and the Ottoman Empire fought a war against one another.

Alot of us are mixed with something. Can't deny and you shouldn't be ashamed of it.

Amen.
I also don't believe that it in and of itself enhances anyone either. We are what we are and none of us requested it before we were born. I agree, we can all be proud of our heritage and because of it we all bring a little bit something different to the table.

I've got one for ya. My Niece, who is half WASP (Scotch Irish), 3/8 Italian-American, 1/8 Jewish-American, is married to a gentleman who is half African-American and half American Indian. We won't even go into their son -LOL!
