Based on perception what grade (A-F) do you give these cities based on perception or if youve been to these cities which grade would you give them based on overall impression? Also what stereotypes based on what youve heard or if you were there what you say would say there is.
Los Angeles: D (pros: lots to do / cons: very expensive, dirty)
San Francisco B (pros: lots to do/ cons: very expensive, lots of problems, rude)
Seattle A (pros: safe, beautiful, interesting, mild/ cons: very expensive
Denver B (pros: downtown, cheap, friendly, fun/ cons: economy)
Houston C (pros:fun, cheap, economy/ cons: violent, dirty, rude, snooty)
Dallas D- (pros: cheap/ cons: rude, snooty, violent, dirty, violent, boring)
Omaha C- (pros: cheap/ cons: insular, sprawly, boring, isolated)
Minneapolis B- (pros: fun, recreation, interesting/ cons: economy, expensive
Chicago B- (pros: lots to do, neighborhoods/ cons: economy, expensive)
Indianapolis D- (pros: cheap/ cons: infrastructure, economy, boring
Miami D+ (pros: interesting, fun/ cons: very expensive, violent)
New York C (pros: interesting, infrastrucure/ cons: very expensive)
Boston B- (pros: interesting, fun/ cons: people too smart, expensive)
Philadelphia C (pros: interesting, cheap, good food/ cons: very violent)
Based on this it seems like I gave Seattle an A based on perception, I would probubly give Portland one also. I love Denver but just had to give it a B even though alot of people who havent been there seem to think its an A grade city. Denver up until very, very recently had a very, very crappy economy for several years.
I guess based on opinions I gave the worst grades to Indianapolis I have been there, Dallas and Miami dont seem very appealing either.

The only cities I haven't been to on that list are Indianapolis and Philly.
Los Angeles: C- (wouldn't live there)
San Fran: A- (it's not rude and doesn't have a ton of problems)
Seattle: B+ (it's not THAT expensive)
Denver: A (the economy is booming)
Houston: B- (not rude or snooty though, but I don't consider Houston "fun")
Dallas: A- (it's not violet in most areas, or dirty or boring)
Omaha: C (not boring when you go to Old Town)
Minneapolis: B (it's not expensive at all and it has a booming economy)
Chicago: B- (it's also not that expensive and it has a booming economy)
Indianapolis: Haven't been there.
Miami: D+ (it's about as expensive as Seattle, it's not THAT expensive)
New York City: B+ (nice place to visit, wouldn't live there)
Boston: B (people think they're smart, and it's not THAT expensive either)
Philly: Haven't been there.
Los Angeles: D-

Seattle: A+ (ditto to SF, but cheaper)
Denver: D+ (conservative state, beautiful scenery, middle of nowhere)
Houston: D- (pollution, terrible city plan, sprawl, population on the defense)
Dallas: C- (never been, and wouldn't make plans to go)
Omaha: F (boring, horrible location, racism, ugly)
Minneapolis: B+ (clean, wonderful downtown, too cold)
Chicago: A- (beautiful, always something to do, good economy)
Indianapolis: D (boring, ugly, cheap)
Miami: C+ (crime)
New York City: A (entertainment, expensive, culture)
Boston: A (historic, liberal, nice landscape, good location)
Philadelphia: C (violent crime, good location, decent beauty)
I will also add these cities:
Portland, OR: A+ (Hip, laid-back, so liberal)
St. Louis: C (high crime)
Detroit: F (ditto, plus abandoned homes and terrible economy)
Los Angeles: B- (pros: lots to do; great weather / cons: sprawl/smog/not family friendly)
San Francisco A- (pros: beautiful; lots to do; great outdoors; near great get aways; good economy/ cons: very expensive)
Seattle B+(pros: pretty, great outdoors/ cons: rain
Denver C+(pros: outdoors, near skiing/ cons: low wages, overrated downtown, surrounded by conservatives)
Houston D(pros:cheap, economy/ cons:weather, smog, sprawl, flat, ugly)
Dallas C (pros: cheap/ cons: weather, flat)
Omaha F (pros: cheap/ cons: nothing to do)
Minneapolis D+ (pros: cheap, good summer activities cons: winter, dull
Chicago B+ (pros: lots to do, vibrant cons: weather)
Indianapolis F (pros: cheap/ cons: dull, weather
Miami C pros: weather, nightlife cons: expense, not family friendly
New York A- pros: architecture, fun, intersting cons: $$$$
Boston B+ pros: pretty, history, lots to do, people are smart; cons: weather, provincial
Philadelphia D pros: history cons: dirty, cold
Others:
Austin B+ pros: winters are mild; eclectic, relatively cheap; cons- summers
Portland B+ Pros: walkable downtown, outdoors; cons- rain, homeless
Atlanta C Pros: economy, housing costs, some things to do; cons- sprawl, humidity
Yes, I don't think Minneapolis is as expensive as some of those other places. In my opinion, it isn't expensive at all. When I saw it was rated expensive, I was like what!!! I think one of the cons might be it is cold!

Dallas: B+ Have never met a Texan (and I've met plenty of 'em) that wasn't down to earth and nice, Dallas especially.
Omaha: B Never been there, but met enough folks from Nebraska. Very nice.
Minneapolis B: See Ohama
Chicago: A+++++++
Indianapolis: B
Miami: F Either very rich or poor, too extreme.
New York: B- Would probably give it higher, but just too expensive and more pretentous than Chi-Town.
Boston (people too smart) Too "I'm better-than-you" for my taste (have run into too many Charles Emmerson Winchesters, I guess LOL)
Philadelphia: E- (our food, pretty downtown, and some cool neighborhoods saves it from F) "B" 20 years ago, though.
Probably put too much emphasis on the people aspect, but believe they make, and best reflect, where they live :>)

That's up for debate. One thing you can't ignore though is that most people on this forum tend to lean to the left of center, so "liberal" to them is a positive term. For me, I prefer an area full of moderates, such as my own, where people are all registered Democrat and vote as such but have Republican mindsets as well. I like to be "dead-center."
