OK, the above question..... Why?

To me it seems the ole South is dead. Georgia is much like Florida. Very few natives and mostly transplants, at least in the Atlanta area.

So for all you posters here. Are you Georgia natives? If not, where? And how long in GA?

Me, I'm a native West "By God" Virginia native and have lived in, thanks to my job transfers:

New Jersey 2times
Virginia 2 times
Illinois
Maryland
Tennessee
and Georgia since 2004.

I'm a Georgia native, and I'm happy to see each and every newcomer to the state.

I'm a native! My parents met here in Alanta while in highschool together (Roosevelt High which has since been turned into condos) and they still live in the house I grew up in over in Norcross.

;-)

I'm not, but I know lots of them. I'm even more rare, a native of Washington, DC. (I miss it so!).

Default Authentic Georgia Peach!

We are a rare breed, but some of us actually do exist! I am from the mountains of North Georgia where my family was one of the first to settle in the area in the early 1800s. I now reside in Atlanta and have for approximately 14 years.

I am a native of Atlanta -- born at Crawford Long Hospital. My mother's house was one block from the corner of Lindbergh Drive and Acorn Ave. and I graduated from North Fulton High which is now Atlanta International School. My parents met at Druid Hills High School where my father played on a 7? man football team. School was so small that they couldn't field a regulation sized team. I no longer live in Atlanta but still have relatives there and visit often. I am amazed and appalled at what has happened to my home town.

Its happening all over small town America, particualry the South. Here in North Carolina, we are no exception either.

There are several NC towns that have been overun by newcomers, particulary in the Raleigh area out east and the Lake Norman area which is just north of Charlotte. What gets on more peoples nerves here more than anything is how the local government is handling the growth, traffic jams are common now on once empty country roads and overcrowded schools.

People dont set down roots anywhere anymore. Its like a herd of cattle finding a field of green grass, word gets out and everyone heads there til the field is bare, then its off to the next one.
