Now I do not argue that what happened wasn't an example of racism. It sounds like it probably was. But to take a superior attitude about not throwing down the black card with one clerk in a store, while you're doing a televised interview in which you're throwing down the black card is pretty absurd.
I think when things that shock you happen, the first response is to be stunned, and to walk away from the situation, because you can't quite believe what just happened. You get mad after the fact.

Last time I checked a sales clerk in a boutique is NOT a financial advisor or a business manager. And Oprah became a BILLIONAIRE without the financial advice of a low wage earning shop clerk.

No, it is not. It is fact, whether you like it or not. I am not saying that I am happy black people are not nearly as wealthy as white people, it is not my fault. But I can't deny it, either.

What is your point? Is Oprah on one of those shows? Did she produce one of those shows? No.

surely though in a shop as expensive as this one must be, the training given to sales people would be top notch.....
If you reread what you wrote, you would realize that you just contradicted yourself.

You said that there was a possibility that the salesperson didn't speak the lingo....and then you implied that 'its unlikely since the shop would have top notch training'. If the training was really top notch then there would be clear communication channels.

In very high end shops sales staff can make a significant commission.

Oprah Battles High-End French Boutique Racism

She has thrown this accusation before.

Racism? Not sure. (High-end) luxury store clerks are often snobby and arrogant. I was treated badly at a Gant Store (hardly luxurious) here in Oslo, Norway and I am an ethnic Norwegian and I even wore a Gant cardigan

I am more surprised she did not recognized Oprah.

Stereotyping based on race is called racism. What is it that you don't understand about that concept?
