I don't care if you do, or you don't.

Just tells me what kind of unintelligent, irrational person you are.

Just a short intelligent question.: Clarify to what you are responding please. This answer is sorta hanging out there! "Do or don't" what?

I cannot seem to understand, how owning or carrying a handgun makes one unintelligent or irrational. If anything, carrying a handgun obligates the person to a higher moral standard and a higher level of compassion. If you are so dim-witted and feeble-minded that owning or carrying a gun would make you insecure enough to become more ignorant or less intelligent, and to act out of character (although yours is one of irrationality), then I feel sorry for you. I don't own a gun because I hope to kill someone, I own a gun because I wish to increase MY ODDS of seeing my children grow old. If that means ending someone elses life because they are threatening mine, I am secure enough with my person and my self-worth that I can do so. You may choose to crawl into a ball and be beaten to death, just wear a shirt that says "victim" and get it over with.

Well - stop being such a anal retentive and you will have no worries!

I have firearms in my home - I carry concealed weapons outside my home - as does my wife.

broken record broken record

people for guns use the same common sense arguments to validate their points
people against guns use the same ridiculous assumptions to attempt to validate their skewed opinions

You know I have, oh I don't know how many, firearms in my house (both long guns and hand guns, some are antiques or rare) and not one has ever jumped out and hurt someone on it's own. Nor has one ever been used for ill in anyone's hand. Ever. My wife learned to shoot as a young girl and all four of my kids learned to shoot when young.

single cases vs. millions of responsible gun owners?

one ignorant and uninformed individual with opinions vs. people who are actually informed and educated?

just one of the better known examples...

there are numerous reports of parents shooting children, children shooting parents, children shooting siblings, spouses shooting their partner...

just consider the rash of school shootings around the time of Colombine--other than Colombine itself, all the other kids got their guns from relatives.
