Whoever you want to.
Personally I think shooting robbers, murderers, rapists, and child molesters will do the job quite nicely.
That's funny. Putting them in prison had no effect at all, the robberies, murders, rapes, molestations go right on, even with the perps locked away. If we had killed everyone we sent to prison, how would that have stopped the ones we haven't caught yet?

It might be a deterrent. At the very least it would eliminate both overcrowding and recidivism.
Also means everyone is fair game, allow murder of one and you'll be hard pressed to disallow murder of others.
There is a huge difference twixt killing in self defense and murder. Interesting how this thread has developed into a crime and punishment discussion, not really surprising, just interesting. I do believe that the fear of being met with violence is a a proper way to keep violence at bay. If a group of home invaders knew that invading a home would bring on a massive retaliation, ending with them being riddled with bullets, that would cause them to think twice about plying their 'trade'. That is not 'murder', that is justice, by way of cause and effect. Seeing self defense as murder has been tried before. Places like CA, NYC, DC etc, all see defending oneself with lethal force as a crime. I fail to understand the rationale. We have an old saying here, "There are them that need killin' and them that deserve killin', and them that need AND deserve killin'." This philosophy is aimed at those who think that taking from those who have worked and earned their way is an acceptable practice, those who feel that taking what they wish when they wish, by making people afraid is a good way of life. Stopping them by returning their own violence, ten fold, upon them, keeps their tendencies limited to thought instead of action.

I think we need to build a huge fence around Victoria Texas, and ship all the rapists, murderers, robbers and molesters there.
You seem to be rather fond of them all. I think you'd all be quite happy together.

Or they arm themselves better...
I don't mind self defense, shooting someone for stealing your couch isn't self defense, it's crude retaliation.
And who's to say what's justified killing and what's not? If shooting someone simply for being in your house, stealing your things, why can't I shoot other people I feel threatened by?
