We've already gotten rid of the part of the First that assures freedom of peaceable assembly. Without even bothering to amend the wording itself. We can ban speech, religion, or the press by fiat, as well, without changing the constitution.

In other words, we've already done what you are asking for.

Every one of the ten amendments is regularly violated in practice. Except maybe the one about quartering soldiers. The Founders knew they would be, in circumstances in which a person abusing constitutional rights represents a clear danger to social order or public safety.

Are you reading the minds of dead men now? You're quite powerful.

Usually, moronic comments don't deserve a response. Every single decision ever handed down by the US Supreme Court was based on reading the minds of the Founders, to determine how the Constitution is to be interpreted.

Yes.
If they could also make guns impossible to get illegally.

Seems to me the laws keep the law abiding citizen in line more than they stop the criminals.

I wonder how hard it is to get citizenship.
The Swiss have the right idea.

If we could have a lower crime rate I would have happily served in the military.

Switzerland has a higher overall crime rate and a higher burglary rate, per capita, than the USA. I posted the link the other day in another thread.

Statistics again.
Er yeah right.

Maybe I will get a couple of pen pals from there and ask them.
Seems a more logical option than numbers and charts.

Lets not forget a chop to the throat or palm strike to the bride of the nose in a pinch if the opponent does not have a firearm or a weapon with a long reach.

In case anyone doesn't realize my post #190 was meant to be sarcastic. Which doesn't come across well when written.

Who not go and live in Juarez, Mexico. The climate is nicer, and it's perfectly safe. Just ignore the lies from the statistics . You can even earn more money at your job there. Never mind the statistical lies about people's low income. I've been there, and they're rich, and the streets are safe. You can trust me more than the statistics.

Oh, no, wait. It snows there 6 months out of the year. The weather bureau statistics are lies.
