Here is a bigger rendering showing the Hyatt Place Hotel at the top and one of the apartment buildings along Eugene St across from the ballpark at the bottom. The project will take a year and a half to build and will be completely constructed by the time the performing arts center opens a block and a half away.

The plan calls for four 6-story apartment buildings and it looks like the rendering is showing one. That one building is huge. This is going to be a massive project. Looks like a real ballpark district in the making.

Lots of demolishing today, never realized that bank looking building was so huge, that collapse was epic though. But it's a shame to see it go.

That entire block is cleared now. Its great to finally see a large scale proposal become a reality and a hotel is coming. A lot happening around that ballpark. Directly to the north, the framework for the Greenway at Stadium Park Apartments are going up

“We are a city that’s finally growing up. We’re a city that’s finally getting there,” he said. “It’s tremendous, and we don’t want it to stop.”

So weird to see Greensboro city council members talking like this, coming from a history of being stuck in the mud, stagnant and incredibly stubborn.

"and we don’t want it to stop"

hmmm.

Maybe if they say it enough they will actually believe it.
