Seems I read it was brought a while back but the city voted not to change the street due to the economy as it would cost about $1mil for the project. Who knows, it may happen in the future.

And of course the Downtown Greenway. And i'm sure i'm missing alot more.

Hopefully the Lindsay street closure will force the city to fix greene streets ridiculous traffic pattern.
Seriously? Across from Weaver, GCS Admin building (on their parking lot), YMCA, and the jail? Seems a bit odd of a choice IMO.

I worked at just how tall this monstrosity actually is.

Basing it on other buildings and apartments in the area.

Now take that, and stretch it 1/5 mile into this behemoth.

Going to absolutely dominate that part of downtown. the sheer size of this thing is crazy.

Just a perspective of how big big this project actually is.

The size of this project is amazing and it shows Greensboro is moving to the next level of downtown development. This is a Charlotte or Raleigh type development.

I took pics of the Greenway at Stadium Park Apartments going up which will be 4-stories and the Bellemeade Village site

Greenway at Fisher Park Apartments are in the background

Bellemeade Village site

Lindsay St in the foreground will be closed

major projects in the north end of downtown

Lol. You had me confused for a moment.
The biggest chunk of the money would be in the additional traffic lights, according to what I read.

Triad forums seem very dead compared to the Raleigh/durham forums...

I crudely superimposed the Bellemeade rendering in the photo. It might not be precisely to scale but my only concern is the apartment building blocking the view of Greensboro's skyline from the ballpark.
