This is good news. Now hopefully construction moves fast. They have about a full year to be fully ready. This year, the opening week for the Atlantic League is April 26. This means that if the Atlantic League wants to give HP a little more time, they can probably push the opening weekend to the second weekend of May or so to ensure there's enough time to build. I know it's not a major league stadium or anything, but one year is pretty ambitious. Doable, but ambitious.

True lol. But at least they didnt call it BB&T ballpark or field which would confuse it with other stadiums in the state. We already have two baseball stadiums in NC called BB&T Ballpark in both Winston-Salem and Charlotte. Thats the problem with naming rights associated with banks. First National Bank Field in Greensboro isn't unique either. I think there is a First National Bank Field in Pennsylvania or some other state.

Minnesota. Looks like it's being built or in the planning phases: FNBRF Field

But at least they put the town name in the name of the facility to distinguish it from Greensboro's.

When I first moved to the Triad, I wanted to go to a Dash game. I knew the stadium was BB&T something...my GPS took me to WFU...I soon learned to specify which BB&T athletic facility. lol

I'm trying to think of all the BB&T naming rights in the US, they must have a lot of money to spend:

BB&T Ballpark (Charlotte),
BB&T Ballpark (Winston-Salem)
BB&T Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field, (Williamsport, PA)
BB&T Center (Sunrise,FL)
BB&T Field (Winston-Salem)
BB&T Pavilion (Camden, NJ)
BB&T Arena (Northern Kentucky University)

and now

BB&T Point (High Point)

There was another one:

BB&T Coastal Field in Myrtle Beach, but it's now TicketReturn.com Field!

Phase 1 of High Point stadium plan calls for 500,000 feet of mixed-use development. Looking at all of the phases, this is very impressive for High Point.

Agreed. And of the 3 largest ones, High Point in particular is the "red headed" stepchild, so it's great to see it getting some love.

Plus, even beyond GSO, WS, and HP, lots of other surrounding Triad communities are seeing a rebirth in their downtowns.

My family and I left Trinity in 2013 and I miss NC quite often. My title implies a desire to move to Huntsville which lies, in part, in the feel I get there that reminds me of WS. We spent 15 years just south of HP so I am wondering what all has changed in the past five years? Anything substantial outside of the impending stadium? I follow what is going on in GSO easily here but you don't hear much about High Point. I'm sure HPU is still gobbling up territory (Alumnus here / adult degree program....couldn't afford it any other way!). Just curious guys.
