If anyone knows who BMW contracts for IT work, please pm me. I'd greatly appreciate it. I just lost my job a few weeks before Christmas and have been applying everywhere. I was in the running for the IT Support Specialist with BMW last year, but it was filled from within a day before my scheduled interview with the IT Manager.

Quick info about me: IT Admin with 7 years of experience, currently teaching myself German

Will MAU hire someone who had had surgery for a ruptured disk in the lower back around two years ago? I have fully recovered but scared they would not pass me on the physical due to this.

Hi I'm new to thread so I'm not sure if this question has been asked...are there other temp services other than MAU that hire for BMW? I am currently working a contract assignment for MAU that has about another 3 months left. I was told that I wouldn't be able to apply for a BMW position until my current assignment is over. I am eager to apply for BMW mainly for the pay & job security. I've heard of folks working for BMW but going through another temp service instead of MAU. Anyone know if this is true or not? Also, if true..is the hiring process the same as MAU? Such as physical, testing, & drug screening process?

There are other companies that bring in temps, but they don't work the "line". For example, one company, and I don't remember the name of these companies (my DH works there, so he's mentioned these things to me and I've met some of them at Family Day), brings in tech workers, like the mechanics that fix the machinery.
Another company brings in workers that do the more menial tasks...like basic tasks that support the "line" but they do not actually work on the cars....it's one of the lowest jobs in the place...and if you come in through that way, you can't get hired permanent. You'd have to start all over and go through MAU (and serve 6 months as a MAU before you are eligible to become PERM)...that is the only way to get hired PERM as a line worker, which is how most people get into BMW, unless you have a degree and get hired for a specific upper management/office type position (which in that case, you probably are not dealing with MAU at all).

Thank you! Sounds like it'd just be best for me to wait until my current assignment with MAU is over then try to apply for BMW
