Hi there! Long time lurker, first time poster. I've read several stories about the BMW/MAU Hiring Process and wanted to see what everyone else had to say.

I went to the MAU Job Fair in Greenville back in Feb. After passing the interview, I was asked to return and take a written assessment on Feb 22.

I passed the written assessment and was asked to participate in the "Rim Mount" assessment on Feb 24. I passed that with flying colors and was hired pending a physical and drug screen.

Given that I don't do drugs or have any physical ailments, I conducted my physical and drug screen on Feb 25.

Around March 20 I called MAU to inquire as to what was happening given that I was told it takes approx. three (3) weeks to complete everything. The representative was very friendly and stated that they have not received the results yet and that I would be notified by mail as soon as they arrive.

Around April 3, I called once again to see if my status had changed. This representative was also very friendly and stated that nothing had changed so far, but did verify my address and telephone number. She did state that due to the sheer number of applicants, they were backed up processing everyone and that it shouldn't be too much longer. Maybe another week or two. As of now, it's been six (6) weeks and I'm wondering if this is the norm or not.

My question is, how long is the typical hiring process for MAU-BMW? I really want this job. It gives me a chance to have a future and I cannot afford to pass on this great opportunity.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've worked in the BMW plant for about a year now, but last spring when I got in, the total hiring process took just over a month. It's my understanding that they're hiring many more people now than they were then so it could take longer.

OP I know a few people in Greenville that have gone through the MAU/BMW hiring process and I will say this:

1) Temporary people hired through MAU are just a number to BMW....they will use the temporary workers and then when they want to save money they will lay off the temps. Has happened before (around 800 lost jobs) will happen again. Notice that they use MAU instead of hiring directly!

Some advice ~ don't place all of your eggs in one basket waiting for them and if you are hired do not get comfortable....as I mentioned they have no problem hiring hundreds....using them and then turning around and laying them off. If you have not done so already.....expand your job search.

Good luck...

He's absolutely right. Some temps that have been there a while have a chance at becoming permanent BMW associates, but if you get hired by MAU this late in the game, I wouldn't expect to get hired permanently. I know from first hand experience that you must be a temp for 12 months before you can be hired by BMW.

First 30 questions are problem solving type question related to production schedules and efficiency in production. The next 70 questions are personality type questions such as "I enjoy working in a team environment" Strongly disagree to Strongly Agree. Very simple test for the most part. You have 60 mins? to complete the test. Take your time and you will have no problem with it. In the group I was in only one person out of 16 failed.

haven`t heard anything about credit.
Main thing is they won`t hire someone that has been terminated from their last job,and they dislike anyone that`s been unemployed for more than a few months.
