That Popeye's in Boiling Springs is pretty bad. It was a bit better when it first opened but not now. My brother lives near there so I go occasionally. Last time I went the cups they put the sides in seem even smaller and they only filled them 2/3 full. Chicken was freshly cooked but the pieces were small and the crust tasted burnt like the grease was old.
I wonder if these franchisees just aren't paying very close attention to the details. Yelp reviews are horrible so they should do something to improve. I just don't see it lasting but I don't believe it will be because of a lack of customers.
Some of these newer locations are not as good as older established Popeyes in Atlanta and Northern Virginia. I hope they correct the quality control issues as they continue to expand.
Yeah.. It's ALMOST 100% franchised. Corporate owns something like 30-40 stores last I saw the numbers.
I think they recently got purchased again.. I can't keep up with everything with them, but they were owned by the same company that owned Church's for a while in the early 2000's.. I think actually Popeyes (And I always forget, there's no apostrophe) bought Church's, then sold them off..
Just a note.. Shanks on Butler in Mauldin has on their sign that they are open until January or so.. That golf range will be closing down and demolished for the construction of the new housing development.
What I read about Mattress Firm the other day states that they bought out 2 of their competitors, but for some reason didn't consolidate. Seems weird to me.

But just last year Popeyes was sold.
Yeah if I remember right Burger King was the one that bought them out.
Driving through Simpsonville tonight, noticed that the Anytime Fitness has apparently closed. Not sure how long it has been gone, but the building is vacant.
It’s called Fresh to Order and it was awesome. Dang!
