I read speculation Publix #35, Five Forks Place, 2700 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, South Carolina 29681-4804, may expand, relocate its pharmacy, and add a pharmacy drive-thru.

The Sears location in Spartanburg closed a month or two ago. This leaves a Sears in Rock Hill, Myrtle Beach and Greenville. Also for Kmart, there is Greenville, Sumter, Lexington and West Columbia. I would expect the Sears in Myrtle Beach to close next due to it being out of the way for distribution. I would expect the Sumter and one of Columbia’s Kmarts (Lexington or West Columbia) to be next for that side of the business. There are a few hometown and outlet stores as well.
The Rock Hill Sears is now announced to be closing. Greenville one of the two remaining in the state.
I guess the 2 remaining full line stores in SC (Haywood and Coastal Grand-Myrtle)must be among the 400 profitable stores. The way I read and understood one article they plan on getting the number down to 400 profitable ones try to make it through the bankruptcy and holidays then the auction for those remaining in early 2019.
Some of these mall owners must be waiting to get a good deal.

This last round of closures puts the remaining store count around 500 so we should expect more. Probably a couple K-marts in our state would close.
A final, going out of business sale open to the public begins on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at 10 a.m. Highlights include major markdowns on beautiful jewelry inside the 5,000-square-foot store, which has 69 showcases. An array of items from sterling silver to beautiful emeralds, diamonds and sapphires will be for sale. Some items are rare, one-of-a-kind pieces
The signs are being removed from the Rafferty's building on Congaree Road. Not sureif this is just for construction, of if there are other plans for this location.

Greenville is removed from the website. This place lasted a long time, if not 20 years it was very close to it.

I guess the fire did them in. Sad.
