It's been a while since I've been to Toppers but it was always one of my favorite restaurants. We stopped going there mostly because of the traffic. We actually parked at Publix once and walked to Toppers.
I honestly was always surprised that Toppers lasted that long. Only ate there once and it wasn't bad but everytime I drove by it the last few years there wasn't a single car in the parking lot.

Yes I think it just became lost in a sea of other restaurants and buildings. Good building for a fast food type place. Will be interesting to see if it becomes a Clock or some other restaurant.
Their menu isn't anything inventive but doesn't seem out of step with places like Eggs Up Grill that still seem to be hanging on. Nothing dazzling, exactly, but appealing enough just the same.
I think the two biggest things that torpedoed it are (1) the incredibly bland name and (2) its complete lack of visibility. I know they always had that sign out front, but I forget it's there in a way I never did when Two Chefs was in that space.
My wife liked it the one time she went. I guess I'll never find out for myself!

I wonder if it will become any other type of restaurant. I mean we've got the old Fatz/Tavern 24, Chili's, Applebee's, Bojangles and Epic Curean buildings on Woodruff Road that have all been sitting there for months (and in the case of Tavern 24, years) with not even a hint of anything happening with those.
