I do think that location is pretty easy to get in and out of. A few right turns out of it and you can be on 385 going either direction.
The light at that intersection is a mess. Around the holidays especially.. People wind up blocking it
Yeah, yeah, I know.. People shouldn't block intersections.. but.. That doesn't stop it from happening. And the cops can't be there monitoring it all the time.
The one further up is even worse, the light where you come off of 385.
There's just poor light timing there. They really need to work on that.
I'd say the one at the other end, down by the 7-11 at Harrison Bridge is better, but..
So sad all the restaurants I have enjoyed are declining and closing. Ryan's, Shoney's, Ruby Tuesday, K&W, O'Charley's and Fatz. And Applebee's, Chile's, and IHOP struggling to hang in there. Hopefully things will turn around. And somebody bring back a Big Boy! A bit far to travel to Kentucky, Ohio, or Michigan.
Found something I think you'll enjoy.. It's not exploring an abandoned restaurant, but talking about the history of the chain
Apparently Darden restaurants has already picked up the Fatz building in Greenwood already. Darden operates Longhorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden and Red Lobster. (Greenwood already has Red Lobster). Not sure if Darden has picked up any of the other upstate Fatz locations yet. If locations are going that quickly the Fatz shutdown must have been in the works for a while now. Fatz had some good locations so I would expect them to fill quickly.

I haven't been to a Red Lobster in probably 25 years. A friend went for a work lunch thing a couple years ago. He said it was awful and the staff all looked like they just got out of prison.
Yeah. I'm thinking it will be a Longhorn. The building kind of has a rustic steakhouse look to it with a porch across the front but folks in Greenwood have wanted an OG for a long time. Not sure why -there are several places to get that type of food like Capri's, Migs and the Mill House that are better IMO. The now vacant O'Charley's next to the mall seems like it would fit OG's format better after some remodeling.
I would think Darden (with all their formats) pockets are much deeper than a smaller regional chain like Fatz.
I thought Simpsonville was supposed to get a dual branded Red Lobster/ Olive Garden a couple of years ago. Not sure what happened with that.
Augusta has moved their Olive Garden to another location. People were not happy about the temporary closing. Hah. The Masters golf people are buying up as much land around them as possible. They probably end up owning all of Washington rd.
Yup and the red lobster used to be right across the street from the county lock up. HAH
