Torrelli's Pizzeria on Wade Hampton is apparently closed. Their original location near Furman University is still open.

Not surprising. I expect to see more closings like this over the next month or two due to gas prices and unemployment rates continuing to rise.

Gas prices, I can see (can't WAIT for this summer!), but I thought unemployment was on a (very slight) downward trend?

Yeah...according to the government. And we all know how much the government loves telling the truth.

State rates haven't been reported for SC for January yet. That should happen sometime next week. December 9.9; January 9.5; February ??

I expect the downward trend to be reversed but I could be wrong. As those gas prices rise so will unemployment, I am afraid.

I've seen interviews with foreign policy types, and this whole Iran thing doesn't have a happy ending, no matter HOW one slices it, so.... Higher prices coming soon for gas and ANY product made using petro-chemicals.

I believe Nose Dive in downtown Greenville does serve whole (with bellies) fried clams.

Dang - we really liked Formanos, went there about once a month - loved their steak tips. I certainly would love to see them find a new space!

HopefullyNose Dive will be able to satisfy the fried clam craving I get every few months - Mike's Clam Shack in Maine is an awful long drive from here...

This isn't a bash or anything but I had never even heard of Formano's until it was posted on this thread that they closed. Clearly they didn't do enough business or they would have stay opened or moved to a new location. Now Nose Dive...that's a totally different story. Have eaten there several times and enjoy it.

Oh and Harry Jeans I ate at a totally of one time they were here. Just wasn't my thing.

Thanks! Will have to check them out. The clams I crave are an even farther drive away -- Nova Scotia, Canada. :-)
