I'm amazed the mods have let this run as far as it has.

Is debate against the rules? I see debates all the time on here and the thread post itself was political in nature. Somebody bringing up bans on smoking in downtown restaurants is how this thing got rolling and that is a political topic.

I don't think Greenville really has a dominant liberal or dominant conservative area. Maybe people living in condos right downtown are mostly liberal but I am skeptical.

If only all the bible thumpers would just exclusively practice faith healing, the world would be a better place in a few generations.

Who is the bible thumper on here. I know that I haven't talked about the bible or religion. I guess it's easy for you to depict your debate opponent as a bunch of religious people. it doesn't read as tolerant though but that is ok, you can be mean to Christians in today society.

It was actually the bible beaters in Greenvilel working with the Obama type of statists that got smoking banned in downtown private restaurants so you really play on the same team with them at times.

Some liberals seem to conflate their beliefs on religion with a knowledge of Science (TM). It's this idea that because they are liberals they understand Science and somehow if you are opposed to big government you must not understand Science (TM). It makes no logical sense but it is what it is.

Man made global warming is junk science and a hoax. 99% of all scientists once believe that the earth was flat too. Follow the money and you'll easily see why these "scientisits" believe in mmgw. Question liberla thought, you'll be the better for it.

You here a lot about Kenyan Socialist Muslim Presidents.

And Rush Limbaugh.

And science is mocked as some sort of belief system. Lol.
Neo Progressives hold up "science" as some monolitihic infallible dogma. "Science" is the new religion of the left.

Scientists were saying the Earth was round for hundreds of years while traditional thought fought the idea. The Catholic church fought against Copernicus's idea that the Earth wasn't the center of the universe for hundreds of years.

Vol, do you deny the earth has been cooling since 1998 or so? If you do concede that the temperatures have actually dipped, why is this happening if you claim global warming is occurring. something doesn't jive.

Where do you live in NC? I looked at your post history and it doesn't appear you even posted once in a NC forum which is surprising since you appear to be stuck there. Looks like you went to U. Tenn but you are from Greenville.

Liberals believe in a HUGE Government Industrial Complex. They believe that the government can cure societal ills and socially engineer a utopia on earth. Facts are irrelevent. If they really had an open mind, they would know that MMGW is a HUGE business. Read anything from this guy:

John Christy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Your statement that is like a religion is very true. That is what Michael Crighton talked about in his book State of Fear.

People been talking about the end times through history. global warming is just the latest iteration of this doomsdayism. what makes it dangerous is they wrap it up in Science (TM) even though it really is anti-science.

if people really concerned about global warming, it seems like they would want Obama to stop all the reckless spending on nonsense b/c we are going broke as a country and we won't have any money to save the world from global warming if it comes down to that.
