I'm a huge fan of street food/ NY style Deli and I'm always trying small, out of the way, mom and pop places. Hudson Crossing appears to have a potential winner in Johnny F's Hot Dogs Chicago Style, located behind the BB&T. I've eaten there several times now and I'm hooked. Their Italian Beef, wet with sauteed sweet peppers, giardiniera and mozzarella is now my new favorite sandwich in all of the upstate. Being born and raised here in SC, I can't vouch for things being up to "back home in Chicago" standards. I can, however, say that between ecstatic moans, there was certainly a lot of Chi-town being spoken there.
At $7.00, with hand cut fries, (or without) the pricing is just as good as the mouth watering taste. Polish Sausage Maxwell St Chicago Style ($6.00) is also some good eats. I haven't tried their hotdogs, burgers, chicken or Italian sausage yet, but its all on my to-do list.
I'm not associated with this place, however, I am quickly becoming a regular. Homesick for a taste of Chicago?......Give Johnny F's a try.
Freddies was overpriced in my view, and didn't seem better than the low budget Cookout.
Went to Freddy's once. First and last time. I like Cook Out wayyy more. Nice to see the Panda finally come here.
