Very interesting and yet extremely sad. So much death all for control of more land and resources. Kamehameha even killed his own cousin for control of the Big Island! Many humans then and now, think more is always better.

We as humans are always doomed to repeat history if we don't learn from it. It dose not matter which race etc. But lets not forget that the ppl of Hawai'i were peaceful when the overthrow happened.

I am not sure how those who were forced to go to Kalaupapa on Molokai during that time, would feel about the peaceful people of Hawaii. However, unlike other times in Hawaii's history and the history of most places around the world, for the most part yes the exchange of land was peaceful.
