I work in law enforcement and have learned that I can get hired even as a "non-citizen". My wife on the other hand works in the film industry. Does any one know if it hard to find work in Hawaii? Also what is the cost of living like? How much does a household need to make a year in order to live comfortably?
Thanks in advance for any advise.

Generally, law enforcement agencies in the US will not hire unless the individual is a green card holder at the very least. Have you spoken to each of the islands' respective agencies about that? Honolulu PD - " Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States." I'd suggest checking US immigration websites on the best way to figure out how to emigrate.
As for cost of living. It is high. I'd say a large amount of LEOs, on Oahu at least, work another job. The pay for police or jobs in general just aren't comparable with the mainland, or even Canada, to hold the same living standard.
