I am planning to get it at the end of September, as I have a trip coming up in mid-October, and that would give me the highest antibody at the time of my trip. I'll get the flu shot a week or two later, or in early November when I get back.

It’s the same vaccine just reformulated for the newer strains. Why would you think it needs to be retested? Personally I’m happy to have a vaccine that protects against the newer variant since the old vaccine wasn’t as effective against BA.4/5.

. You could not be more wrong. A vaccine trains your immune system to fight a specific virus.
Then why is the FDA closely monitoring the booster for "expected" safety and efficacy? You are taking part in
the human trials when getting jabbed!
All vaccines are tracked by data monitoring software. Besides, this post is about people who took the vaccine not the other way around. If you don’t want to get vaccine then don’t get it. End of story.
