I can’t sleep. Period. I am old, so I don’t give a crap about “addiction”, I just need to sleep. In my state, good luck with getting Xanax or other benzodiazepines or hypnotics as the opioid/meth/fentanyl zombies have ruined it for everyone else, at least I am told that. Stuff like trazodone just make me dizzy, it & Elavil are early generation antidepressants that didn’t do the job that current SSRIs are supposed to do & are now prescribed off-label for insomnia, which is ridiculous. Melatonin, magnesium, etc. are useless for sleep. Marijuana is legal in my state, but I don’t want to get high, I want to sleep. I bought CBD oil in Colorado in a legit shop & it was a waste of money. I have no idea what Delta 8 is. Some people in these forums boast about their mj brownies & when I ask about dosage..crickets. Good lord, I am not a narc. Screw it, I’ll bust out the vodka.
That stupid Trazodone did jack for me. Never noticed a thing when i took it.
Also, tricyclic antidepressants were not effective for depression, and for some people, like me, they just cause dizziness & other unpleasant side effects & do not aid with sleep. I don’t need to fall down between my bed & the bathroom. I do agree that they continue to make $$$ for big pharma.
They may not have worked FOR YOU, but they were (proven) more effective than the SSRIs. The tricyclics can take up to six weeks to work, and the dizziness almost always wears off by then. Sounds like you didn't give it long enough.
And they DON'T "make money for Big Pharma" because they were all made generic a long time ago. It's the name brands that do that, which is why they're constantly coming out with new ones, whether "improved" or not.
I got the pills and they are small ovals kinda pink in color and only .05 mil. So i will try one at around 11am and see if it kicks in around 12.
They are 0.5, not .05
Even half of a 0.5 mg will help me sleep. Start small and use more if needed is the best way to go, because 1) its best for your health and 2) the less you use the more likely your doctor will continue to prescribe it
