Back on track and quit arguing with each other about ear candling.

I have had a left ear pulsation for four yeas since I received my pacemaker, double bypass and aortic valve replacement. I'm not sure what is causing it but it's getting worse and driving me crazy. I'm seeing my Electrophysiologist in a few days and I hope he has the answer.
I'll keep you posted.

He suggested taking a nasal spray for a few days, so I've just started doing that, and also said to yawn a lot (not hard for me!) and to swallow.
He was unsure about what caused the throbbing, but when I mentioned also getting horrible decompression when landing in an aircraft, he was more definite about it being a blocked eustachian tube.

I'm in Sydney, and have been reading elsewhere on the forum about something called a "Z-pack" which seems to work, but am not sure about it's availability here.

Has anyone else had this sensation?? Did you climb up the walls, and snap at your beloved/s?? Any other suggestions/remedies would be appreciated!

Thanks for listening/reading, folks, have a good Monday/Tuesday!

I've had this alot. Coincidentally, right now, I have this wonderful sensation where my hearing is not at all blocked, but instead I have this wonderful auditory distortion going on. I sounds exactly like I get if talking into a third rate microphone. Except it's everyone around me.

I remember getting an explanation of why everyone hates their voices on a recorder, something about there being fluid in the ears that picks up sound waves and creates that harmonic resonance people like, whereas microphones can't really do this. So I suspect I'm dehydrated or something and there isn't enough fluid in my ear to do this. Whatever the cause, I can't even listen to conversations without getting this horrible feedback echo.

Eight pages and no one has mentioned the name of this condition? It's tinnitus.

Default ENT visit results

Yesterday, my ENT specialist noted an area in my left ear signifying a possible tumor(usually benign). He prescribed a CATSCAN to confirm his suspicions. Then, a simple one-half hour surgery would be performed to remove the tumor. In the meantime, the daily use of the Nettipod had helped considerably. Hope is on the horizon.

P.S.
In my case, he thinks the condition was caused during my open-heart surgery when my heart function was shut down putting undue stress on the artery in that area???

For a little over a year I have been experiencing an extremely annoying and distracting thumping sound/sensation in my right ear. It is NOT associated with my heartbeat and it's occurrence is completely unpredictable. I've been to two ENTs (one in Singapore, one in the US) and both acted clueless to my symptoms. In both cases, when my ears were inspected, the conclusion was: "sounds like something you just have to live with" (did they intend this arrogant pun?).

When the problem first started, it occurred at least every other day for about 8-10 hours per day (note: during prolonged attacks, the thumping rate averages about 6 thumps per minute). Gradually the frequency tapered until it occurred about once every two weeks for about 8 hours (I would occasionally hear a random, single thump every so often, maybe once or twice per day). The infrequent episode lasted about two months. I then went through a period (almost 3 months) where I didn't have any prolonged attacks. About three months ago, out of the blue, I heard/felt the thump while having lunch with some friends. It continued for about 12 hours that day. I was horrified. I thought that the horrible problem had left me and now it was back in full force. My anxiety was racing. After that attack I did not have another until two weeks later. After that, a one week break before the next attack (lasted about 8 hours). Now, for about the last 8 weeks, I have been having attacks at least once every two days, through all hours of the day and night.

The thumping causes me severe anxiety and depression. I can not focus (I am a scientist), I can not read (my job requires constant reading), I have not slept more than fifteen consecutive minutes in weeks (I feel like a zombie). During the attacks, I feel like ripping my ear off, or pouring boiling water into it. I have found no relief. I've tried professional cleaning, fever reducers, and exercise. I've tried the "blow through a plugged nose" technique, no fix. Just yesterday I visited a chiropractor and had an initial exam and consultation. The chiropractor told me that my ear problem could be due to misalignment in my C1 and C2 vertebrae (which by his observation are very screwed up in my neck; of course, right?). Right now I am waiting on neck and back x-rays before he will begin to provide adjustments. I skeptical, but hopeful in this route. But I begin every approach this way.

If all else fails, I would gladly submit to having my right ear and hearing removed. I feel like I am losing my mind. Worst, no one understands. The most frequent response I get after describing my symptoms, even from friends and colleagues, is, "Oh, that doesn't seem so bad, just don't think about it". It's ALL I THINK ABOUT. It is ruining my life. Please help.
I have similar symptoms. It started on a plane ride. Like something popped in my head. The throbbing ear is eating worse i think it may be an ear infection
