There are all sorts of beautiful stamps from the Third Reich. In fact, everything from the third Reich is hot, hot, hot!
Sigh. So true. Every other movie or book (it seems) is about WW2/Nazis. I am sick of it, really. We haven't forgotten....
I didn't read all 40 pages, but mineral collecting seems to have fallen by the wayside. That was the one thing I was interested in collecting, gems from our earth.
Here in Tucson, the big event of the year is the Gem and Mineral show every February (except this year). People come from all over the world to shop and buy rocks at more than 40 venues around town.
Quartzite has a similar show.
I've been to that show- its a-mazingI didn't go through all the pages here, but does anyone remember tatting or quilling?
I see quilling is making a comeback, which is very cool and on my radar, but you don't see much tatting nowadays, and its really pretty cool stuff.

Yes I have a friend that just started quilling. I had never heard of it before. And looks so intricate.
Quilling is something my grandmother did, and I always thought it was amazing.
I looked back at some of the old posts here, and modeling was brought up a lot- but it occurs to me that the glue one would use is restricted now, isn't it? So this must be an adult project nowadays, huh?
I remember building a plastic model of the WWII Aircraft Carrier USS Wasp when I was a kid. They were cheap to buy at the neighborhood store. I was so proud of it when I finished up building it.
My brothers were HUGEly into models- cars in particular. And I remember so clearly ( an amazing feat at this time) being able to go into any "drug store" or "5 and Dime" and have an incredible array of models to see and from which to choose. It was super easy to figure out gifts for them at that time!
Clemencia, I agree- quilling is way too intricate for me, too, but it sure is gorgeous when done well.
