Here is one from right after we moved in. I still don't like how the room is arranged but I can't figure anything else out. None of our pictures are up in this one yet so the wall look naked.

I love the MinPin! We have one too. I might take the sofa on the right and move it to where the chairs are, then put the two chairs on the right where the sofa was (a swap) and thin a tall plant over by the window. Just to give it a less symetrical look, but that's just me. I like the wall color.

Historic Bessemer: I love all those colors, except the pink.
Me either, we asked the girls what color they wanted their rooms........we got pink and orange! The rooms look very different now as we have curtains up and furniture in the rooms!

Ditto what Eggalegga said - gorgeous!

Historic Bessemer, I'm suprised by how much I like that pumpkin color in your 3 year old's room. Normally I hate anything orange, but that looks really really nice!

I have lots of colors in my house, but none of them are glaring & bright. Everything is a bit muted & easy on they eyes, but still colorful and happy. The upstairs looked great as-is when we bought it last year, so I have concentrated my painting efforts on the ground floor. So far I've painted the living & dining rooms (apologies for the quality of the pics).

Living room: Benjamin Moore's Aura line in Safari (flat)

Dinign room: Benjamin Moore's Aura line in Croquet (flat)

We have not tried the Aura yet! Do you like it? Did it cover as well as they say it does?

Yes, it covers very nicely! The original color in these rooms was a grey-beige shade. It was fairly light, so it was easy to cover it in just one coat. Yup, just one! No priming or anything.

LOL...now that too funny. You seem to know a lot about your paint and the different techniques in painting.

Historic Bessemer,
Wow, you guys really do love your color! Did you guys paint the rooms yourself? The room that have stripes (the green room), how did you get the lines so perfect? I want to do that so bad but I keep hearing people say the blue tape doesn't work? If you painted this yourself, what technique did you use?

Those stripes! Just love it- but I'd probably botch the job if I did it myself.

Yes, we did it all ourselves! Just decide how wide your stripes will be, use a level, a pencil and GOOD painters tape! Mark your width and draw your lines starting at a door frame and keep the width consistant even when you come to the corners. Only try to do one wall at a time. Just remember put down your base color first then when you stripe only paint every other area! Unless your tall, it's alot of up and down the ladder!

We tried having the couch there and it looked ok. I think because we don't have a sofa table it looked a little out of place. Maybe I should just buy a sofa table?? We bought that furniture for our old house and it was specifically for that space, I would have done something totally different in this house had I been buying for this house but the furniture is only a couple years old.

Our dog is actually a rat terrier but she has the colorings of a mini-pin.
