Get a dog. Then you'll have to pick up the dog crap, though...which is far worse.

Why don't you try to enjoy the ducks and other wildlife in the area? (I have a few ducks in my backyard right at this moment.) If you had a few hundred geese I could empathize a bit more.

I'd probably start with an Owl Decoy. I've never tried them on ducks but they do work well for other birds (as well as rodents).

They're available at most sporting goods stores as well as places like Wal-Mart. Pricing is around $20.

You're lucky, we get Canada geese all over ours. You think duck crap is bad.

I thought about owl decoys but owls generally don't go after ducks. Coyote and alligator decoys are used for geese for that reason. A large turtle decoy the size of a snapper would probably do the trick for ducks as well.

The problem with those bird repellent devices is that they would repel ALL birds. They're usually used in urban areas like parking garages, not homes. If you use them you may also may also repel insects including pollinators. If having an attractive (or food-producing) garden is important to you, you need to let some wildlife in.

Heh. Regular ducks are nothing compared to the Muscovy ducks around south Florida. Big fat pooping machines. (I can't recalled ever seeing a duck poop out cooked or sanitized feces.) You chose your property unwisely. Even a yappy dog can get bored with chasing away ducks and going after migratory birds out of season is a Federal offense. Learn to live with it or move on.
