Right now we're using this 1930s Guardian Service drip coffee maker. Works great with the Gevalia coffee.

I just drink one mug (sometimes two) of coffee every morning. I have three ways to make this coffee:

1. A 4-cup Mr. Coffee
2. A plastic Melitta filter holder
3. A Zojirushi hot water kettle and Maxwell house instant.

I always choose #3, instant coffee. Easy, fast, and no cleanup.

#2, Melitta filter, is my second choice but it's probably been years since I used that method.
#1, my Mr. Coffee, just sits on the countertop and collects dust.

I keep thinking I should buy a Keurig, but every time I am ready to "take the plunge", I read the reviews of various models of Keurig on Amazon. Doing that causes me to change my mind.

Wow, $289.00 is a bit steep for my budget...

Our West Bend 54159 Classic Stainless-Steel 12-Cup Percolator (from Amazon), has made coffee at least once a day since we bought it in January 2014. I did buy one for a gift, which is still going...

walmart.com has them for $65.95, but unavailable and Amazon also out-of-them....

I have a Bonavita and I am not enjoying the coffee at all.

I have filtered water.

I buy expensive beans and grind them.

I have cleaned the coffee maker.

I am about ready to give up.

P.S. Keurig is not a healthy selection

I had French press, but found it labor intensive.

How long does your process take?

French press, boil water in pot on stove. Labor intensive? Huh?

Sometimes I use a cone filter, permanent metal filter. I boil the water, put the coffee in the pot with the boiling water, then pour through the filter.

About 3 years ago I went on a coffee kick. I tried them all. Perc (stove and electric), drip (at least two), french press, grinding my own beans, etc. You name, it I tired it. All gone now. I use a Keurig. While not a very dependable machine (on my 2nd in 3 years) I like the convenience and the various flavors. I usually drink 3 cups in the morning. First is the strongest I can buy like 9-10 on a 10. The next is less so (5-6 on a 10), then I end up with a flavored one like French Vanilla. Now I can face the day.

Nespresso Vertuo, does coffee or espresso, up to 14 oz. with the same size capsules, recyclable aluminum. Great varieties, convenient, and reliable machines. I especially like the Cuban coffee when it’s available.
