We are looking to move to Friendswood this summer. We'd like to be in the Cline / Windsong / FJH / FHS school district. We have young children and would like a very family friendly neighborhood. Any suggestions?

Default Moving to Friendswood

I have lived here for 5 years now and live within the Friendswood School District. Great choice to move here... I have 2 teenage sons and they really prospered in this school district: Community Involvement, Athletic and Academic Club involvement, and a real sense of community!

Many of the neighborhoods (if not all!) are family friendly- It really depends on if you are looking to buy or lease and your budget is important as well. Either way, besides being an advocate for Friendswood, I am also a real estate agent and can send you information on any neighborhood-

In the meantime, some neighborhoods to consider:
1. Eagle Lakes
2. Falcon Ridge
3. San Joaquin
4. Sun Meadows
5. Cowards Creek

(Just to name a few!)

Let me know if you would like any specific area as I am happy to help- I always enjoy assisting others!

What would you recommend for someone with a budget of 230k?

Im shocked at the homes down there. So few seem to be updated vs Cypress, and so much more expensive for what you get.

We moved here last year and live in West Ranch, there is a nice bike trail, fishing pier, community pool and lots of planned activities for kids through the social committee. If you want more info you can send me a private message.

What communities are you looking at in both areas?

For places like Friendswood, the school district is driving the pricing. The district is award winning and a family based city (Family Circle Mag Top 100 City), so homes are not on the market long. The average inventory is at 4.3 months... To put that into perspective, a good market is about 6 months worth of inventory and the country average is almost 8 months. League City is a little over 5 months and Pearland is a little above 6 months.

You are right about the age of homes here, but there are a few new developments and the prices reflect that. That being said, there are a good amount of resale homes that do have updates and are in good condition... I am more than happy to send you links to current properties in your range in the Friendswood School District or any other areas. Clear Creek Schools are pretty diverse, but it is a good district as well. Based on your price range alone, I am finding about 15 properties in Friendswood...
