I just find the way websites like to quantify "hipness" through statistics to be somewhat fascinating. Sort of like the Bowl Championship Series.
The BCS is basically a selection for who is going to lose to the SEC. After teams just kept losing over and over again, they decided just to let the SEC play themseleves since the two best teams in the nation are probably in the SEC most years. The SEC would be at 8 championships in the last 9 years had Auburn not be screwed out of the 2004 championship. It would have been as followed:

2003 = LSU
2004 = Auburn (would have been)
2006 = Florida
2007 = LSU
2008 = Florida
2009 = Alabama
2010 = Auburn
2011 = Alabama
2012 = ????????

Just utter dominance!

I would have said "Let the Houston bashing begin!", but it's too late in the thread to do so....

USC is 14-10-1 against SEC, winning the last four. Of course, 'SC also schedules tough out of conference.

mcubed.net : NCAAF Football : Team vs. Conference records : USC vs. SEC

Bring it.

USC would have destroyed Auburn that year. That 2004 team was probably the 2nd best all around team behind the 2001 Canes in that decade. Auburn didn't get screwed. They just played a terrible OOC schedule. They had nobody to blame but themselves.

Time and time again Forbes comes out with some stupid list with findings held from some random chosen qualities. Orange County isn't even a city.

If by "hippest" Forbes means "filled with the most yuppies/hipsters/gentrification", then SF/NYC/Boston are definitely at the top. SF/NYC/Boston are urban amusement parks for the affluent.
