I think Houston has a lot going for it--especially with it's economic strength. As far as to being "hip"--I have no idea, it seems like a good place to be a young professional, although I'm not going to judge it's cultural or artistic scene as I've only been there once for a short trip.

Quote:
We ranked the cities based on net migration (the number of people who relocated there in 2011) and also on unemployment rates, since a city’s offerings are only as good as the amount of people who want and can to afford to enjoy them. (No one likes to hang out in an empty bar, right?)
Yeah, see all you unemployed hipsters--real cool people have serious office jobs like me... Forbes said so--so go stick that slogan on your fixie and ride down to your vegan cafe with free wifi.

We also ranked the cities based on other recreational opportunities, including the amount of green space, the cost and number of outdoor activities like golfing and skiing available, and the number of pro and college sports teams.
Nothing is hipper than college football and golf.

Sorry, my post was in no way sarcastic...

That is city data. Its a bunch of lists where homers from one city get pissed because their cities isnt on the list. Some objections are reasonable and can be noted, but others are absurd.

not really. know one usually pays forbes list any mind because their are known for making similar list with different cities.

for example next week forbes will come out with the top 10 most boring city list, and Houston will rank number 4. Know one takes Forbes list serious and their never used as a source unless your a homer trying to just make a cheap point.

i use to support forbes list but now they all seem pretty premature to me.

forbes is a great site but their list are sometimes funny as hell.
