It doesn't have to be a reality show. An interesting cable drama series would be nice, though. Something that captures the true, quirky essence of the city and its people.

We had "Lone Star" a few years back. It lasted what, two episodes?

Agree with general sentiment of this thread, NO THANKS.

Because many of those shows like Real Housewives of xyz or Jersey Shore are essentially wealthy trailer trash - trust fund brats or Train wreck television, made for the SAHM and unemployed crowd. If you want that, COPS and Animal rescue have filmed here...unfortunately.

A poorly produced/written show isn't Houston's fault. There are interesting stories that can be told with this city as a setting. No one can tell me otherwise.

I remember an open call casting thing for real housewives in Houston. Not sure why it never took off or maybe not enough women wanted to do it.

I remember when Robocop 2 was filmed here. There was quite a bit of filming going on downtown.

You mean kinda like Duck Dynasty or Swamp People has enhanced Louisiana's image? These reality shows don't film/produce with the intent to make things look good, they edit to make things look bad.
